What is the SEAG transfer test?

SEAG (the Schools' Entrance Assessment Group) runs the standardised entrance assessment used by most grammar schools in Northern Ireland. Pupils sit papers covering English and Maths under strict time limits, and the results are used as part of grammar school admissions.

What age is the transfer test for?

The SEAG transfer test is sat by pupils in P7, normally aged 10 or 11. Our mock exam is open to P7 pupils only.

Why should my child sit a mock SEAG exam?

A mock transfer test under real exam conditions builds timing, stamina and confidence, and shows exactly which topics still need work while there is time to fix them. Most children find the real day far less daunting once they have already sat a full paper in an unfamiliar hall.

Arrival is 9:30am for a 10:00am start, and families should allow until roughly midday.

A detailed report showing your child's marks, question-by-question performance and the areas to work on will be emailed to you after the event.
